Hmm, here is my first blog. I never thought I’d blog, for, one, I am not a good writer and two, I had nothing to write! Still the two reasons hold good, but, when I was discussing this with a good friend of mine who is a first-rate blogger, all he said was to start writing something, and ideas will flow out. Well, I obliged and here I go, scribbling my first ever blog which by any means should not be short of mere nonsense!
I am an avid reader of many blog posts, and I enjoy sharing good writings with my buddies, and later review, analyze and comment on the topic. All this I am able to do is solely because I have no work. Now, here comes my most important reason for blogging – having no work – which my friend touts as the basic qualification to be a blogger. Other bloggers, please don’t take offense; I am not telling that only the idle & jaded should blog, but just letting you know that since I have those attributes, I am in here to keep myself busy. Was that a convincing explanation?? Huh…
How does one feel at the workplace, when he has nothing good to do? Especially in companies where you gotta maintain a strict 8 hours login time? I guess that such kinda person would visit the cafeteria often, accompanying every other colleague who’d want to sip a coffee – one at a time, mind you, or read the newspaper from the first page till the last – something which is usually not done, or meddle into others’ work until they say, Mind your own business! Ahh, now if I had something to mind for myself, why would I ever peep into your work? Isn’t it a big pain sitting in the office one whole day, doing nothing but just glancing at the watch every second minute, waiting for it to tick the “Time-out” hour? Wonder what the plight is of the many people in software companies who sit on the bench! Now-a-days, software employees express themselves in a proud way that they are on the bench. Is that a qualification, or a big client project you are managing? What’s so great about it??? Maybe the fact that one is paid for not doing any work! Glee! Looking at the other side of the coin, many people complain that they are overburdened with work, due to which they have lost their health, not being able to spend quality time with the family, etc. Why does this work assignment imbalance ever occur? On one side, people grumble of the never-ending workload and on the other, people like me, who whine contrastingly that I am not given any work. The phrase, All work & no play made Jack a dull boy, holds good till date. Just want to remix that phrase to speak my plight: All play & no work, too, made Jack a dull boy.
